GIFT/ZIFT

Gamete intrafallopian transfer (GIFT) and zygote intrafallopian transfer (ZIFT) are two methods to help you conceive. These techniques are helpful for many who have problems with mild endometriosis, unexplained infertility, low sperm production, or sperm antibodies.

Preparation for GIFT or ZIFT

• Medication is used to stimulate the ovaries, producing multiplemature eggs.

• The woman's eggs are removed with a thin needle inserted into the ovary. This may be done through the vagina or with a laparoscope.
